Belt-driven pressure washers are the most durable design available. The pump is
driven by a belt and pulley system and is isolated from the vibration and heat
of the engine.
These belt-driven pumps spin at half the speed of the engine (or even less). If
properly maintained, these pumps tend to last for a lifetime.
Belt-drive power washers cost more to purchase than direct-drive models because
of the extra parts and because the pumps tend to be significantly 'beefier' than
their price-conscious direct-drive counterparts.
Most experienced contractors look for durability. Most will only buy belt-driven
equipment because the life of the equipment is longer and the investment over time
is lower. |
