Chemicals, Cleaners, Brushes, & Specialty Tools

Find every specialty tool and cleaner in this section.

The use of chemical cleaners by contractors speeds cleaning and minimizes rinsing. $5 worth of the right cleaner will save you $25 worth of time on a job.

To get the most from these strong cleaners, store them in moderate temperatures (between 54°F and 95°F). Minimize any exposure to sunlight and excessive temperatures.

We break our cleaners (and the related tools used) down into the category of jobs they are used for. Just click on "Decks" to find all the products we carry for cleaning, stripping, brightening, and sealing decks.

"As always - you are full of wonderful information. Thanks so much." Albert M., Georgia

Chemicals, Cleaners, Brushes, Tools, & Pressure Wash Specialty Products - everything for the pressure wash profesional!

The cleaning process is a function of some combination of breakdown, agitation, and lift. Breakdown occurs when a chemical cleaner affects the soil on a molecular level. Agitation occurs when we apply pressure - either water pressure from our pressure washer or manual pressure (like a brush). Lift occurs when a cleaner suspends the soil so it rinses away quickly and cleanly.

Some combination of these three elements will clean any surface. If we do not use a chemical cleaner for both breakdown and lift, then we can only rely on pressure to do the job. Experience has taught us that using a cleaner is both easier and more profitable. This has led to an entire cleaning philosophy commonly referred to as "soft wash". We use soap when we clean clothes, when we clean ourselves, and when we clean our homes. If we wash a surface with pressure alone, we are just beating the dirt off the surface. It can work, but the surface can be damaged in the process.

The challenge is selecting the right cleaner, the right tools, and the right pressure. Sun Brite Supply has made every effort to make that choice as easy as possible to make. We have broken our cleaners, brushes, and other tools down into categories that match whatever we clean. Everything we suggest for cleaning houses, for example, is listed under that category above.

Something else to think about: there is a great amount of difference between the surfaces you might power wash. Concrete will take just about any pressure you want to throw at it, while cedar house siding can be destroyed by 2000 PSI. There is a huge difference in the nature of the soaps we recommend as well. You want a lot of sudsing action when you wash a house, but you want no suds at all when you wash wood. Each cleaner is somewhat different, exactly matched to the job you want to do. If you are searching for that one cleaner that does everything, you will miss out on the one terrific cleaner that does an outstanding job on one or two kinds of cleaning.

Finally, cleaners save you money. For example, when you use a cleaner you can cut the time you spend doing the work measurably. In the washing stage, a cleaner cuts the time and speeds you up. In the rinsing stage, you might even be able to skip rinsing with the right cleaner. Contractors who clean concrete without using Concrete Cleaner often have to go back and rinse the concrete. That is because the dirt settles back down on the surface instead of flowing away with the wash water. That is because there is no "lift".

Here are a few basic pointers every professional cleaner should understand:
1. Always apply soap from the bottom up on a job.
2. Never pull the trigger with the gun aimed at any person, animal, or asset.
3. Work from high to low, from back to front, and from the farthest point towards the street where your vehicle is.

Get the job done faster by combining all the right elements: a great cleaner, the proper brush or applicator, and your own expertise.

Using the right chemical cleaners and specialty tools means more profit from every exterior cleaning challenge.
