Drain jetters (blasters) are the fastest and easiest way to clear clogged drains. Jetters will remove soap scum and grease from clogged drains quickly.
This popular drain cleaner tool is employed by both commercial and industrial service providers.
Through the use of high pressure with specially-designed nozzles and either hot or cold water will easily unclog drain lines.
The cost of these machines can range from moderate to very high, depending on your particular needs. These models are portable cold water units, which are the least expensive and most common. We can build hot water units that are trailer-mounted, but these more common cold-water designs work for a wide range of contractors and property managers.
Jetting is cost effective. The speed at which they work saves significant labor cost over using a power snake, for example.
Drain clogs are caused by things like built-up soap scum, tree roots, accumulated mineral deposits, dirt, hair, and grease. Slow drains are almost closed, and a jetter is the right tool to clean these lines fast, too.
At one time or another, all homeowners and commercial property owners will need this service. Restaurants in particular frequently need jetting to keep grease-prone drains running. Local governments frequently outsource these services to contractors, too.
With the right equipment, you can move into this specialty service. All you need is a low-pressure, high-volume pressure washer (with a pulsing flow feature) and the associated accessories. Jetters are similar to pressure washers - with a few unique differences. The components of a drain jetter are a high-pressure pump (driven by an electric motor or a gasoline engine), a pulsating damper to start and stop the water flow (creating the blasting effect) and a stiff jetter hose with the proper nozzle. Frequently a foot valve is added for hands-free control.
The pressures needed to clean drain lines depend on the particular job, but usually range between 1500 and 4000 PSI. 2500 PSI is the most typical pressure used. Jetters can reach ultra-high pressure (such as 25,000 PSI and higher) but those pressures are not required for most commercial and industrial drain work.
Jetters can be electric or gasoline-powered. If you work indoors most of the time, electric is the way to go. If you work on indoor and outdoor drain lines, gasoline-powered machines provide more clog-moving power.
When buying a jetter, you also need to select a jetter hose. We offer you three sizes to choose from. The longer the jetter hose, the more likely you will be able to run a gasoline jetter outdoors while working on indoor drain lines. Hoses can be selected on the same page as the drain jetting machines you select.
Line Testers operate at much lower pressures and higher volume gallons per minute. Line Testers are used to perform hydrostatic tests on pipes for leaks. Our line testers can be used to sanitize pipes by injecting liquid chlorine without the risk of damaging the pump.
Understanding Jetter Nozzle Styles:
Laser nozzle: 1 orifice sprays forward and 3 orifices spray backwards. Cuts through tough blockages, even roots. A larger version (for larger pipes) is sometimnes referred to as a Grenade nozzle, which can have as many as six rearward jets.
Cornering nozzle: A single jet out the side and 2 rear-facing jets. Side blast opens corners, allowing the nozzle around.
Ram nozzle: No forward-spraying orifice, but 3 back orifices. Helps push itself forward, cleans on the way back.
Rotating nozzles: No forward-spraying orifice, but 3 back orifices and side spray. Rotates for better scrubbing effect.
Sewer nozzles are made with different orifice sizes as well. Use a Nozzle Chart to look up the orifice size for your equipment. You can select a larger size to reduce the pressure but maintain the flow.
If you already offer pressure washing services, offering drain jetting is a smart business add-on. You don't have to start off buying a lot of equipment, either. You can add a few easy tools that will convert your current equipment into a jetter. These services are in-demand at residences, commercial properties, and industrial locations.
PRO-JET DRAIN CLEANERS
Pro-Jet Drain Cleaners are self-contained gas-powered drain jetters that clean out pipes without damage from moving parts. All units feature Honda motors and GP pumps. Units include pulsating jetter valve, adjustable pressure, jumper hose, roll cage, aircraft aluminum frame, hose reel, ban valve and jetter nozzle.
PRO·TEST HYDROSTATIC LINE TESTERS
Pro-Test Hydrostatic Line Testers are ready to pressure test the integrity of pipes and plumbing as required by local codes. The uniqiue pump design allows for the injection of liquid chlorine to sanitize pipes without damaging the pump. Adjustable pressures up to 550 PSI and flow rates up to 10.5 GPM.
NOTE. All units are completely factory assembled and run-tested in the USA, and delivered ready to operate.
Jetters are the fast way to clean drains. Line testers pressure test plumbing pipe integrity.
