Whether you use this equipment for mobile detailing (because it has the power to suck carpeting and upholstery dry in minutes) or for indoor cleaning (where you have to collect the water because there are no floor drains) or for environmental cleaning (where it is against the law to allow your used water to enter a storm drain) this equipment makes handling water easy!
Preventing contaminated wash water from entering a storm drain is the accepted law of the land. The Clean Water Act requires that no water with contaminants reaches the natural water eco-system. As a cleaning professional, it falls on you to ensure that the Clean Water Act is adhered to. Contaminated water means water that contains materials identified as pollutants, such as hydrocarbons, heavy metals, strong cleaners, and similar.
This often translates into a responsibility for the pressure wash professional to control where contaminated water flows and doesn't flow. Exceptions to the rule exist, and are usually identified clearly in local regulations. Some areas take a tough enforcement stance, placing professional cleaners under very strict guidelines. We have the tools you need to meet any enforcement standards.
We offer oil socks to remove obvious contaminants, dams and dikes to divert water flow, drain covers to prevent contaminated water from entering a storm drain, and vacuum systems to collect the water. We offer oil-water separators and filters to remove as many contaminants as possible from used wash water. These systems will send the water to collection tanks, to sanitary drains, or to earth areas for bio-remediation.
We can advise you on what to buy and how to use these tools. We cannot tell you what your local regulations are, as every jurisdiction can be different. It is the responsibility of the contract cleaner to find out what the local regulations on collecting and handling used wash water are and how to comply with the law. Once you know what you have to do, we have the best tools at the best prices to enable you to comply.
