Description
Wood Britener contains three natural acids to gently bring wood back to
its natural color and balance. These strong natural acids are combined into this
"Triple-Action" mix. First, they immediately neutralize the harsh action of any
caustic cleaner or stripper. Second, Wood Britener drives any tannins that come
to the surface during washing back down into the wood. Third, Wood Britener will
take the green color out that associated with pressure-treated lumber. Wood Britener
leaves the wood with a slightly acidic pH which is perfect for maximizing
the penetration and bonding of any oil sealer (particularly Ready Seal).
Wood Britener is a "must" for any deck cleaning or deck restoration project. This
is the best secret of Professionals when they do a deck refinishing job. Think about
your deck project this way: if you were dying a T-shirt, wouldn't the color look a
lot better if you started out with a nice white, bright shirt to dye instead of a
dingy one? The same principle applies to decks. Make your deck as light and bright
as possible before you apply deck stain, and the end result will be better than ever!
Wood Britener is a secret combination of three acids blended together. Each
one of these natural chemicals (oxalic acid, phosphoric acid, and citric acid) has a
different job to do, and together they are magic on wood. Cedar and redwood will turn
light and bright right before your eyes. Teak and similar hardwoods brighten up in as
little as ten minutes, and pressure-treated wood lightens up over about an hour. When
the deck dries, the wood will look light, bright, and as natural in color as possible
(depending on age and condition). Wood Britener contains no surfactants, so it rinses
quickly and thoroughly.

approximately 150 sq.ft. per gallon. Mixed according to directions, coverage rate
